Charlotte > Since we arrived early in "the season", the bison still had their winter coats and looked rather shabby and shaggy.
Charlotte > These bison were lined up to take a dirt bath. One would roll around, stroll off, and another would take its place. A poor calf kept waiting for his turn, but the adults wouldn't let him take it.
Charlotte > Some of the bison, like this one, have very strangely shaped horns. The ranger said that the horns will curve as the bison age.

Charlotte > Yes, those are bison. This scene, with the beautiful yellow flowers and hundreds of bison against the snow-covered mountains, typifies Yellowstone of 2008.
